The Home Care Association of America (HCAOA) is looking for a results driven, team player for the position of Manager, Marketing and Communications. This is an opportunity to manage all aspects of marketing and communications for the association, including the development of marketing plans, and the creation of promotional pieces in efforts to build awareness and drive association revenues.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Direct the development and execution of marketing plans for key areas of the Association, including membership, education/training offerings, sponsorships and the annual leadership conference
  • Manage the development and distribution of email and membership direct mail marketing promotions 
  • Oversee all HCAOA communications; write and edit articles for HCAOA publications, as assigned
  • Manage HCAOA newsletters including The Voice, HCAOA Weekly and single-subject promotions, maintaining an editorial calendar; assist in soliciting topics, writing, designing, reviewing, and distribution
  • Contribute content to HCAOA social media sites and the HCAOA website
  • Cultivate HCAOA relations with the news media, including national and local reporters, representing newspapers, trade publications, radio, television, websites, and other media outlets
  • Write/distribute press releases on key issues and initiatives
  • Develop tactics to increase awareness about the home care industry and HCAOA
  • Participate in Board/committee meeting conference calls and assist in developing meeting agendas, handout materials and recording minutes
  • Provide on-site management and assistance for meetings and conferences
  • Assist at annual leadership conference as assigned (some travel required)

 

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field required.    

 

EXPERIENCE

Three to five years experience in marketing and communications reflected in primary duties and responsibilities, preferably within the association industry and/or health or home care environment.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Excellent communication skills with exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities

 

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Adobe, Citrix Systems (GoToMeeting and GoToWebinar) and HTML/website editing (American Eagle) 

 

Experience with association membership database management software (Impexium  preferred)

 

Ability to manage social media sites including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram

 

Knowledge of Constant Contact software, and Internet applications

 

Excellent written and oral communications, good organizational skills, ability to handle multiple projects and work under firm deadlines, and tact and diplomacy to work with volunteer leaders
