Position Description The Department of Marketing and Business Information Systems of the Rohrer College of Business invites applications for Lecturers, which are full-time, non-tenure track, renewable faculty teaching positions, to begin September 1, 2019. We seek candidates who are passionate about teaching and mentoring students at the undergraduate level. In addition to teaching responsibilities, successful candidates will be required to make meaningful and substantive service contributions. Successful candidates will also be expected to participate in professional development to stay current in their content area. Lecturers are 10 month, benefitted positions and successful candidates will teach a total of 24 credits over two semesters, with the option to teach overloads and the possibility of teaching summer classes for additional compensation. While these are non-tenure track positions, assuming successful re-contracting reviews they are renewable for progressively longer periods of time, starting with two years for the first re-contracting period and then proceeding to three, four, and then five years per contract. In addition, the position has a promotion path to Senior Lecturer and Master Lecturer.
Qualifications Responsibilities of this position include teaching undergraduate courses in marketing and supply chain management, mentoring students, engaging in service, attending monthly departmental and college meetings, and fully participating in departmental and outreach activities. Courses taught may include, but are not limited to, Principles of Marketing, Business Logistics, Business to Business Marketing, and Marketing and the Business Environment. Courses may be offered in-person and online. Candidates must be available for day and evening classes. Candidates must have current and continuing professional experience substantial in terms of duration and level of responsibility which is linked to the fields of marketing. Requirements include an MBA or a Master’s degree in Marketing and prior teaching experience at the college level.
