St. Stephen’s Episcopal School is seeking a Chief Marketing Communications Officer who will enhance and implement a strategic communication and marketing plan in accordance with our established mission and goals. As a member of the school’s Executive Committee, the Chief Marketing and Communications Officer will report to the Head of School.
St. Stephen’s Episcopal School, a coeducational boarding and day school of the Diocese of Texas, is a caring, diverse community, inclusive of all faiths and grounded in the Christian tradition, which nurtures moral growth and values the potential and dignity of every human being. St. Stephen’s challenges motivated students to live intelligently, creatively and humanely as contributing members of society. The school develops the whole person by providing rigorous academic preparation, stimulating physical activities and rich opportunities in the fine arts.
St. Stephen’s was the first coeducational Episcopal school in the United States and the first integrated boarding school in the South. St. Stephen’s has relied heavily on its reputation in local markets to attract day students, but in-migration to the area has diminished that awareness. The school markets itself nationally and internationally for boarding students. The day market includes many competitors, including highly ranked public schools.
The school is looking to implement changes to improve both internal communications among St. Stephen’s constituents, as well as externally to make communications more strategic, professional and customized for the school’s various audiences. While the school has recently revamped its website, improvements will need to be made to improve SEO and usability, as well as a renewed focus on media relations, and digital marketing and communications in support of Admissions and Advancement. All efforts should be in support of the school’s recent Spark 2023 Strategic Plan.
