Reporting to the Head of Global Marketing in London, the successful candidate will be responsible for creating and implementing the marketing strategy for France across all client segments with a core focus on helping the business grow revenue. He or she will manage a team of 3 people (event specialist, campaign manager and content specialist). He or she will also contribute to manage the corporate profile of the firm in France through industry conferences and events, and digital communications.
The France Marketing Manager will:
Set & deliver local marketing strategy & plans;
Implement Global marketing campaigns locally & develop & implement local campaigns and distribution plans across multiple channels & products;
Share/leverage best practice across countries, avoiding duplication of efforts and initiatives / create high degree of consistency;
Develop & implementing local product programmes for different types of clients (co-marketing) across AXA Network, IFA, wholesale professional buyers and private banks, insurance, corporate and pension clients.
Work closely with Corporate Communication team in order to
implement a digital communications strategy focusing on enhancing the French website including SEO;
Contribute to the media relations strategy in France working closely with the French media team in order to support the marketing strategy.
1. Strategic marketing planning and implementation
Development & implementation of the French marketing strategy and corresponding activity for each client segment including stakeholder sign off & budget;
Execution of local marketing plans, with a list of activities specific for each target audience spanning all elements of the marketing mix, including advertising, events, digital, DM/eDMs, media partnerships ...
Implementation of global marketing campaigns locally, inputting into the messaging and creative development and marketing planning, and developing and rolling out the French specific activity to support those plans;
Implementation of local marketing plans to support local products including production of product marketing material (mainly for AXA Network and Corporate Pension Schemes);
Development & implementation of co-marketing opportunities, concepts & activities with AXA Network, retail distributors or Private Banks ;
Contribute to French website ownership working closely with Corporate Communication team;
Delivery events as part of the strategy;
Develop strong innovative marketing concepts to cross and up-sell and increase client retention as well as to result in new asset generation;
Oversee all content/materials developed to ensure appropriate reflection of the AXA IM brand values and consistent messaging within global guidelines.
2. Global and Local Stakeholder management & partnership with sales and global marketing & Communications
Active business partnership with the 5 heads of sales in France (for the 5 client segments)
Be a proactive member of the global marketing & communications community and Marketing Leadership Team, actively participating and sharing best practice;
Maintain and develop strong relationships with the sales team, portfolio managers, product specialists, operations, corporate communications, compliance and other business functions as appropriate;
Work closely with the central global marketing and corporate communications teams to ensure that marketing messages and the overall AXA IM positioning are reflected consistently in France.
3. Budget Management, Metrics & Reporting
Measure the impact and success of locally driven marketing programmes and contribute to the Global Marketing reporting on cross-market and segment campaigns;
Closely manage, prioritise and monitor the French local marketing budget and ensure alignment to companies and segment needs.
Ongoing managing and monitoring of key marketing & communications agency relationships locally within global guidelines.
Measure AXA IM's impact in the press: monitor key media relations KPIs and contribute to quarterly global media relations reporting.
More than 7 years' experience in marketing and communications in the financial services sector, preferably with experience of the asset management/securities sector
Proven Team Management experience
Degree educated preferably with a relevant finance / marketing qualification
Excellent communication skills including written and spoken fluency in both French and English
Proven ability and confidence in presenting at a high level
An in-depth knowledge of the asset management industry, clients and products
Be a proactive, dynamic and highly client-focused self-starter
Able to demonstrate credibility and inspire confidence
Able to work independently yet as a proven team player
Ability to drive innovative strategy and implementation of marketing activity and media relations
Able to proactively come up with ideas for marketing and PR as well as take direction when ideas are not originated by the candidate
Able to work within a matrix organisation with numerous stakeholders
Excellent interpersonal skills, able to build easy relationships with different teams and person (investment teams, product managers and other business partners) to capture ideas and extract relevant and timely information
A very high level of organizational skills with ability to work on multiple projects and to cope with demanding schedules
