Under the direction of the Associate Vice President of Marketing, the Digital Content Manager creates, edits and maintains the presentation of content on the University's websites. Manage and prioritize content requests and serve as the primary point of contact for web content editing and page development. Meet with internal clients and team members to research and develop new content. Advise on layout (images, graphics, videos and artwork) collaborating with the Marketing team and Information Technology to optimize and improve the user experience. Train and mentor campus web editors regarding CMS functionality and web page best practices in a responsive web design environment.
Essential functions of this position include but are not limited to:
Content Management and Strategy
Work with content producers on marketing team to strategize and build navigable and intuitive Drupal web pages for the most impactful presentation of stories, profiles, and marketing content.
Conduct introductory and ongoing CMS and web content training for web editors to help them attain self-sufficiency in maintaining timely content on the site.
Formulate web standards and provide best practices guidance to campus web editors and act as primary point of contact for publishing materials. Stay current with digital media trends and developments.
Provide high level of care and assistance to campus partners on the maintenance of web content to proactively keep the University website content highly accurate and useful for audiences.
Adhere to technical, branding, and style standards of the University. Work with marketing leadership and cross-departmental staff to ensure key initiatives for the University are represented according to established policy.
Assist marketing team in assessing, selecting, and implementing tools to improve the performance of stated web objectives.
Identify new website functionality and development needs, and partner with IT for product scope and documentation.
Working with the marketing team, set up, track and manage UTMs for all digital campaigns.
In partnership with management, identify key website metrics to monitor and report using Google Analytics and develop a consistent format for sharing out Consult on other digital communication mediums, including email templates, newsletters, and social channels.
Manage outside vendors and free lancers when utilized.
Bachelor's degree in a related field.
Minimum two years' experience in web page creating, site editing using a CMS, and digital content presentation.
Proven skills in researching, planning and writing digital content.
Familiarity with setting up tracking for digital campaigns.
Understanding of Google Analytics and creation of dashboards.
Demonstrated proficiency in written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills for a diverse audience.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and problem solving capability
Possess knowledge of visual design best practices.
Experience with Drupal platform.
Demonstrated experience in information architecture.
Web training experience.
