Under the general direction of the Vice President, Technology and Services, the Director of Marketing and Member Services will ensure high quality customer experiences by leading the efficient operations of the Member Services Department, Communications, and Marketing areas of the cooperative through visionary direction and guidance. Areas of responsibility will include the Call Center, member services, cooperative web-site, social media, and public relations. This position works with minimal supervision and accepts responsibility for direction, control and planning of all activities with their areas of responsibility.

Manage, supervise, coordinate, direct and assist the Member Services, Communications, and Marketing areas of Habersham EMC in order to ensure the highest level of services and communications are provided to our members.
Ensures optimal service of areas of responsibilities through the establishment of policies, procedures and practices that heighten service and efficiency.
Oversees the management, organization, planning, and operation of the cooperative marketing and communications in order to keep our members well-informed. This will include the development of plans for member communications, public relations activities, marketing activities, social media monitoring and updates, cooperative web-site or any other avenues which promote services available to our members and fostering a positive image of the cooperative.
Prepare and manage departmental budgets and propose staffing or other resource recommendations to the VP.
Remains attentive to newsworthy HEMC activities and communicates those accordingly.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by management to meet the needs of the organization and our members.

Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in communications or related field.
Requires a minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience – preferably including management experience. A combination of education and demonstrated experience providing equivalent knowledge may be considered. .
Thorough working knowledge of publishing communications techniques and marketing.
Experience in public and media relations, public speaking, and publications editing.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail.
Computer proficiency required including Microsoft Office.
Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Requires the ability to have and maintain a Georgia driver’s license and to satisfactorily pass Habersham EMC’s employment entrance examination and drug screen.
Ability to work varying hours and during emergency situations.
