This position is both technical and creative. It performs a variety of moderately difficult technical, creative, and administrative tasks related to the production of media including streaming media, video, and audio for traditional and web-based playback. Performs skilled, creative work in design and production of graphic art elements for use in print and web-based communication and marketing materials. Organizes those elements into effective and visually pleasing publications and prepares final layouts for printers and/or web developers.
Support department as camera operator, video editor and audio engineer. Produces, directs, and edits scripted and non-scripted projects as assigned. Serves as a consultant with staff, students, and management regarding video project design and needs. On a project-specific basis, selects and directs actors and production crews. Ensures assignments are completed within cost estimates and on schedule.
Conceives, designs and creates graphic art, including original illustrations and photographs for use in brochures, posters, presentations, digital signs, web pages, etc.. Prepares final layouts and camera-ready materials for printers and/or web developers. Ensures work complies with university guidelines for print and web media.
REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, fine art, or related field and two years of consulting productions and graphic design experience.
Combinations of related education and experience may be considered.
Relevant experience in producing digital media, video, streaming media, and audio. Experience in operating broadcast quality video cameras. Graphic design interface and experience in multimedia and web development.
Working knowledge of media production software such as Final Cut Pro and Adobe Creative Cloud. Ability to apply the principles of graphic design, commercial art, and video production. Strong service orientation. Ability to exercise independent judgement. Excellent written, interpersonal communication and team skills. Knowledge of the methods of combining inks, papers, colors, and fonts. Knowledge of photocopy and off-set printing techniques required.
Two years full-time video production experience; experience in multimedia authoring and web development; supervisory experience.
