Key Duties: •Under direction of the System Vice President, Marketing & Communications, is responsible for managing the operations of the centralized marketing & communications functions of SSM Health, including: Communications, Marketing, Social Media, Digital Services, Creative Services, CRM, and Market Research. This role will work closely with C-suite and department leaders to provide integrated marketing and communications solutions that help SSM Health reach its strategic and operational goals. •Facilitates the system-wide annual Marketing and Communications planning process, including identification of market opportunities and key strategic priorities, coordination and alignment with health ministry and strategy leadership, and allocation and monitoring of annual budgets. •Organizes the work of the department’s centralized functions, continuously improving effectiveness and efficiency, while ensuring SSM Health remains competitive in the rapidly changing health care industry. •Responsible for managing the department dashboard, including identification and aggregation of key department activity and success metrics •Partners with the System Director, Marketing, to develop a comprehensive CRM/Direct Marketing platform and plan that leverages marketing automation, nurturing, behavioral mapping/modeling, propensity modeling and best practices to help SSM Health best reach its communities and support organizational growth and loyalty. •Partners with the System Director, Communications, to manage crisis communications, assist with executive communications, ensure the continued evolution of SSM Health’s social media platform, and develop a brand journalism platform for SSM Health’s owned channels. •Partners with the System Director, Marketing, to ensure the continued evolution of SSM Health’s digital platform, overseeing the implementation of best-in-class UX and UI, robust SEO and SEM performance, and enhanced functionality as a key customer and physician portal •Partners with the System Director, Creative Services, to further enhance creative productivity, insourcing of creative production, and integrity of the brand •Develops and maintains department human resources activities, including professional development, programmatic recognition, and mentorship •Supports system-wide brand activities, including brand implementation, campaign development, brand tracking and measurement, and brand messaging •Supports system-wide market research activities, including development of consumer, physician and business insights, consumer behavior modeling and ad hoc qualitative and quantitative research to provide insight to integrated campaign planning and executive leadership •Supports merger and acquisition marketing & communications activity as needed, providing transaction communication support, branding support and timely integration of core marketing & communications functions •Serves as executive partner to HR, IHT and Foundation departments, providing marketing and communications insight and support for key initiatives; may support other departments as needed
Specific requirements: •12-15+ years’ experience in related field required •Master’s in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or other related fields preferred •Previous healthcare experience preferred, but not required •Strong working knowledge of CRM systems and direct marketing •Strong knowledge of digital platforms and emerging digital technology •Strong knowledge of corporate communications, crisis communications and public relations, both locally and nationally •Experience in managing within a matrixed organization, preferably with a multi-state or national footprint •Excellent communications skills, both verbal and non-verbal •Excellent writing and editing skills •Excellent presentation skills •Ability to operate in a rapid business environment •Proven ability to implement successful, measurable marketing and communications plans
