JOB SUMMARY: The Marketing Coordinator for audience engagement works as a direct report to the Director of Marketing and serves the San Antonio Symphony in a capacity that provides our current audiences and patrons with a level of service that is both accommodating and cultivating. The candidate for this position is expected to be a marketing and administrative generalist who has the capability to be data and systems oriented, and also comfortable with public facing. This position, while rooted in audience engagement, will have the opportunity and may be required in certain instances to venture into public affairs execution, as well. Audience Engagement • Coordination of lobby marketing and development display needs, as well as sponsorship or audience development activations. • Planning of content, coordination with graphic designers, and production of program book, performance slides, and subscriber newsletter. • Provide planning and on-the-ground execution for pre-show and post-show receptions for group sales development, single ticket cultivation, and subscriber stewardship. • Develop and coordinate audience development focused public programs in collaboration with the Music Director and the Director of Marketing. Subscription Campaign • Develop timelines, initiate renewal plans, and work to maintain a strong subscription base. • Create and execute a new audience acquisition plan for subscriptions and season packages. • Work with graphic consultants in the development of subscription advertising materials. • Communicate all initiatives and strategies with the TOBi ticketing office and telemarketing efforts. • Coordinate setup and create and deliver leads to telemarketing and list management consultants. Ticketing Fulfillment & Data Analysis • Provide ticket concierge service to stakeholders via phone, email, and in-person communication. • Meet ticketing, fulfillment, seating, and complimentary ticketing requests from patrons and staff. • Fulfill report requests & list pulls for mailings & e-marketing purposes. • Coordination ticketing and patron services for off-site concert events. Patron Communications & Administrative Support • Serve as primary operator for phone systems and voice-mails for incoming call on the main line providing accommodating, cultivating, and efficient service to patrons and donors. • Ensure office maintains stock of office supplies and printer servicing • Communicates with our CIT service providers for issues dealing with Symphony servers, emails, etc. • Duties as assigned.
Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience in the performing arts. • At least 3 years relevant experience in marketing, patron services, arts administration, events planning/coordination, and/or a similar field. • Experience working within multicultural environments. • Previous experience working with Adobe Creative Suite, Content Management Systems, & Patron Database Software. • Personal leadership through example, coupled with ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a results-driven, team-oriented environment. • Interest in, and preferably, knowledge of symphonic music and the classical music industry. • Demonstrated superior written and verbal communication skills. • High energy, people person, and outside-of-the-box thinker.
