University Communications merges strategy with creativity to produce content and products that communicate the CMU value. The Assistant Director of Recruitment Marketing plays an instrumental role in the planning, creation, implementation and assessment of strategic recruitment and retention communications, particularly for undergraduate freshman and transfer students. This position will work closely with Enrollment and Student Services team members to determine messages important to incoming and continuing students and will serve as the primary writer and/or editor for recruitment products. As part of the integrated marketing team, the Assistant Director of Recruitment Marketing will leverage evolving technology, market research and analytics in building the university's reputation and increasing enthusiasm for CMU among prospective and current students, alumni, friends, faculty and staff, and other targeted audiences.
REquired qualifications include Bachelor's degree, preferably in marketing, communications, public relations, advertising, journalism or related field. Two years professional marketing and/or advertising experience with demonstrated creative writing ability. Demonstrated experience working with a team to develop and execute various components of an integrated marketing and advertising campaign. Ability to think strategically and advance internal client/university goals through communications. Ability to collaborate with team members and clients, identifying needs and goals and articulating creative concepts and rationale. Demonstrated written, verbal, and interpersonal skills. Exceptional grammatical, spelling, and proofreading skills. Strong organizational, project management and problem-solving skills to plan, set priorities and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Self-starter who works well with minimal direction.
Desired qualifications include Master's degree. Higher education experience, preferably in student recruitment or retention. Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and related systems.
