University of West Florida is seeking applications for the Athletics Marketing and Sales Graduate Assistant position to assist in all marketing and promotional aspects for UWF Athletics and its 15 NCAA Division II sports programs. Position will begin August 1, 2017 and will be for a total of two (2) years or upon completion of degree.
Duties include assisting with coordinating the logistical efforts of the following:
Annual marketing and promotional plans for all 15 athletic departmental programs.
Managing in-game promotions, sponsorship elements, presentations and entertainment.
Managing the Argo Armada, the official student-rewards program for UWF Athletics.
Managing the Argie’s Kids Club, the official kids club for UWF Athletics.
Managing the Argo Armada Blue Crew, the official student section of UWF Athletics.
Corporate sponsorship management and fulfillment.
Scheduling for Argie’s Reading and Recess Program along with other community service events.
Assisting with home games, events, Gulf South Conference, and NCAA championships.
Providing customer service to students, student-athletes, coaches, sponsors, donors and spectators.
Assisting with the Athletics Marketing Internship program.
Supervision and scheduling of student staff.
Assisting with the oversight and scheduling of the mascot.
Graphic design, social media, and email marketing.
Other administrative duties as assigned by the Athletics Department Administration.
Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university.
Acceptance into Graduate School at the University of West Florida.
A strong desire to work in the field of athletics.
Demonstrates the ability to set and act on priorities that accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities.
Skill in working independently and following through with minimal direction, and ability to identify effective methods of work operations.
Ability to communicate effectively with the public over the telephone, in the office, and at events.
Ability to perform duties with a great degree of accuracy, meeting deadlines, working effectively under conditions of frequent interruptions and workload fluctuation.
Analytical skill to evaluate information, identify and resolve problems.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff members, vendors and other university constituents.
Ability to maintain a positive attitude in demanding situations.
Willingness to work a schedule including nights and weekends as required by position responsibilities.
Additional Salary Information: Candidates selected for the graduate assistantship will receive full tuition and fees up to 18 credit hours/year; includes out-of-state and graduate matriculation waivers.
Ten-Month Stipend in the amount of $8,000 ($4,000 per semester) for the 2017-2018 academic school year.
Graduate Assistants must maintain their minimum credit hour requirement and a 3.0 GPA to matriculate and receive funding.
