The Email Marketing Specialist serves as an integral member of the office of Admissions and the office of Marketing and Public Relations, reporting in a dual-role to the director of Admissions and the director of Marketing and Public Relations. This position works independently and as part of a team and is responsible for supporting the online marketing team with lead generation and nurturing activities. The primary responsibility for this position will be to execute email marketing campaigns from concept through completion, including analytics and recommendations and social platforms specific to recruitment. The individual should have a broad understanding of digital marketing, email best practices and target marketing based on a customer lifecycle and strong writing ability.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Creates, develops, implements and tracks all outbound email communications for purposes of admissions, enrollment and general marketing operations for recruitment;
Ensures consistent and thoughtful messaging across all student populations and outside entities;
Formulates a communication plan for prospective students throughout their lifetime in the admissions recruitment funnel;
Supports the creation and delivery of all email marketing campaigns, including developing copy, editing and working across multiple platforms to maintain contact lists and schedules;
Maintains weekly email performance reports;
Supports social media content and platforms to promote recruitment initiatives working with the college's social media manager;
Develops and maintains email templates;
Prepares Photoshop files as required, slicing/resizing images;
Works with cross-functional teams through implementation and compliance to produce effective email communications;
Collaborates with graphic designers and copywriters to optimize the design, content, targeting & messaging of email communications;
Schedules emails for deployment;
Ensures CCS branding standards are upheld; and
Assists with additional digital projects as requested.
Researches, discovers, collects and writes content from across campus for use in digital recruitment messaging and communications;
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in marketing, communication, ecommerce or related field required;
At least one-year experience in email marketing, online marketing, internet marketing, or digital marketing highly preferred;
Basic knowledge of core technologies, including HTML, CSS, web activity reporting, and the principles of usable design preferred;
Strong writing skills and ability to address the interests and concerns of various audiences required;
Must have strong organizational skills, demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, work independently, and the ability to meet deadlines for time sensitive assignments.
Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver or other HTML editor preferred;
Experience with responsive design a plus;
Experience with Pardot marketing software a plus;
Experience in development, testing and implementation of automated and event triggered email programs a plus; and
Team player who is detail-oriented with good listening and interview skills, ability to engage people in conversation required.
