Title Position Reports To: Executive Director for University Communications and Marketing
JOB SUMMARY: Adelphi University is currently undergoing an initiative to substantially raise its local national and international reputation. University Communications and Marketing will accomplish this through strategic communications and marketing initiatives that will ensure strong and consistent branding throughout all printed online and media outlets increased visibility and improved recognition of Adelphi?s strategic positioning academic programs educational quality and achievements. The Senior Director of Marketing and Analytics is responsible for developing strategic marketing initiatives and directing the development implementation and tracking of integrated recruitment marketing plans that will deliver results that support the University?s goals. The Senior Director leads the activities of the marketing team proactively manages partnerships with Adelphi?s licensing and merchandising partners and leads the development of analytics strategy and communication.
RESPONSIBILITIES and DUTIES: Marketing Develop direct implement and track strategic marketing plans to gain more visibility and awareness in alignment with the University?s goals. Propose timelines costs and measurements to ensure effectiveness using qualitative and quantitative metrics. Plan and directs marketing activities utilizing multi-channeled campaigns across new and traditional media channels including but not limited to print radio publications web email social mobile video. In collaboration with Enrollment Management and campus partners develop innovative and effective marketing strategies to support increased visibility and recruitment efforts for programs maximizing demand for the University?s academic offerings. Proactively build and maintain relationships with representatives of different areas of the University community to inform planning share progress and assess ongoing marketing needs. Manage and maintain relationships with external advertising and marketing partners to ensure that partners are fully aligned and that the services provided are effectively supporting the strategic marketing plans and University goals. Direct and oversee implementation of SEO strategies in collaboration with social media and web teams and digital agency.
Analytics and Operations Lead the utilization of data and creation and distribution of routine reports to inform decision making and assist with change management. Work collaboratively with colleagues to analyze and use the data to make informed decisions in support of the strategic communications and marketing plans. Gather internal and external research information and analyze data to determine most effective means to reach target audiences. Lead the marketing team in ensuring that best practices are in place and being followed to collect accurate analytic data from various systems including but not limited to website Contently Constant Contact and Hootsuite. Oversee the establishment and use of protocols for various marketing tools utilized by the office and other university partners including Constant Contact Hootsuite and Contently. Oversee the establishment of University-wide list management protocols and policies in support of strategic marketing and communications plans.
Merchandising and Licensing Oversee the management of contractual relationships with external vendors relative to advertising licensing and merchandising. Direct the management of development and maintenance of merchandising and licensing partnerships to ensure brand compliance and increase non-tuition revenue. Stay up to date on new social media tools best practices on how other organizations and companies are using them and works with campus community to develop University-wide social media best practices.
Staff Management Provide leadership train manage set goals and accountability measures for the marketing team. Recruit and hire staff as needed. Direct individual yearly goal setting for designers including training and professional development opportunities. Assist employees as needed. Other related job activities as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS: Expert knowledge in new and traditional marketing and advertising principles and methodologies. Exceptional and demonstrable analytical abilities and experience using web traffic analysis tools to achieve goals. Strong managerial skills. Highly developed project management skills. Ability to problem solve and think strategically. Experience with Microsoft Word Excel and PowerPoint. Ability to be a self-starter and work independently. Familiarity working in a complex dynamic environment. Ability to work in a fast paced high volume/stress environment. Ability to prioritize workload according to volume urgency etc. Strong written and communication skills. A collaborative mindset. Ability to work night and weekends when necessary.
EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor?s degree required and advanced degree is preferred in a relevant field. Minimum of 8 years of related experience required. Supervisory experience required.
