Crisis Center for South Suburbia (CCSS) is seeking an energetic and creative marketing/communications professional to be responsible for agency marketing and public relations activities. The Director of Marketing is responsible for developing a comprehensive strategy to build understanding and support for the mission of the Crisis Center and enhance the reputation of the organization and its resale stores. The Marketing and Communications Director manages resources and oversees initiatives that raise awareness of the resale stores and the Crisis Center programs. Key areas of responsibility include center publications, social media, public relations, advertising and brand identity. The position demands the full range of communications skills, both creative and technical: copy-writing, graphic design, photography and experience in using electronic media to support institutional goals.
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations or Communications
Five-plus years of relevant professional experience in communications, marketing, public relations or advancement, preferably in an educational or non-profit setting
Outstanding leadership, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
Thorough understanding of marketing and branding principles, as well as solid grasp of new media channels
Strong project management skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple and complex tasks with hard deadlines
Excellent writing, editorial and proofreading skills
Excellent computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint and Excel
Graphic design experience and facility with Adobe Creative Suite: inDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator, and InDesign a plus.
Experience in website management and familiarity with content management systems (WordPress)
Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written skills for a variety of audiences.
