About Us …
The American Immigration Council is a non-profit organization established to increase public understanding of immigration law and policy, advocate for the just and fair administration of our immigration laws, protect the legal rights of noncitizens, and educate the public about the enduring contributions of America’s immigrants. We employ a diverse set of strategies, including policy advocacy, litigation, research, communication, and education. We were founded by the American Immigration Lawyers Association in 1987.
Your Role …
Our Marketing Manager is responsible for effectively promoting the brand, mission and work of the Council. Working closely with other development and communications staff, the Marketing and Manager will develop a plan to use social media, email, events, partnerships, and other tools to ensure we are effectively marketing our work to current constituents, as well as identifying new constituents and activities the Council can invest in to further its mission. In addition to developing the plan, the Marketing Manager will be the primary person carrying out the tasks (big and small) necessary to fully implement the plan.
Your role is accountable for creating and executing annual marketing plans and materials; in partnership with staff conceptualizing major events, and ensuring brand alignment; collaborating with Council staff to fully capitalize on marketing and partnership opportunities at external conferences and events; analyzing, segmenting and reporting on constituent data and website and email analytics; using metrics and data to better frame and target marketing approach; researching, evaluating and recommending new marketing opportunities; evaluating and recommending opportunities for special projects that could further our reach; and contributing to the dissemination protocol process to ensure proper distribution of our work to desired audiences.
The Marketing Manager directly markets the Council work to immigration attorneys in close partnership with the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA); manages our Ambassador Program, as well as other outreach with subgroups of AILA; and works with communications and development staff to develop strategies to engage followers on our social media platforms.
Your Background …
Undergraduate degree and 4+ years of demonstrated marketing experience. Experience in a non-profit or membership organization is a plus. Non-profit immigration experience also is a plus. Interested in advancing the mission of the American Immigration Council.
Position requires a solid understanding of marketing plans, social media and other platforms to successfully market a non-profit organization, and how to organize data in Excel, Google docs, etc. Training or experience with Drupal, HTML, Photoshop, and graphic design, preferred.
