The University of Pittsburgh's Computing Services and Systems Development (CSSD) department is seeking a senior-level manager, reporting to CSSD Director of Administration, responsible for the strategic marketing and communications of University information technology services. The Manager supervises a communications team; develops strategic marketing and communications goals and plans; and oversees the key messaging, design, development, coordination, execution and evaluation of both internal and external communications. Responsible for identifying, prioritizing and implementing the most effective and cost-efficient mix of marketing and communications channels to meet audience awareness, education, and adoption goals.
Using strong writing and audience-awareness skills, the Manager will oversee production of a variety of strategic and operational communications including documentation, knowledge articles, news releases, digital signs, key business communications, website content, videos, targeted events, social media distributions, print materials, and service status messaging such as alerts and high impact communications.
Person in this position will work closely with the CIO, senior staff, and IT service owners on a range of targeted strategic communications efforts with University stakeholders, including communication of CSSD's partnership strength in advancing larger University strategic goals.
Candidate must have at least 10 years of relevant experience that includes advanced-level strategic communications planning and management of multiple people, projects and budgets, preferably in a university or complex institutional environment. Must be seasoned strategic thinker and writer. Important that candidate have experience with IT systems and services and can accurately interpret and represent information technology products, systems and policies. The candidate must also possess excellent leadership skills and have a demonstrated track record of setting and achieving stated goals.
