The Air Force Academy Athletic Corporation (AFAAC) is a nonprofit corporation operating under the laws of the State of Colorado that qualifies for tax-exempt status under 26 USC §501(c)(3) in its support of the 27 Air Force Academy intercollegiate athletic programs, plus spirit teams and boxing.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for the creation, execution, and maintenance of a comprehensive marketing, advertising, and revenue generation plan for Air Force Athletic programs that strives to achieve the overall mission of the Air Force Academy Athletic Corporation (AFAAC) and within NCAA compliance guidelines.
Will be focusing on marketing, ticket sales, game day management, fan engagement, and advertising for, but not limited to, the football, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, volleyball, and ice hockey programs.
Develops and executes marketing and revenue generation plans that support all athletic events designated above with goals of generating revenue, increasing attendance, retaining season ticket base, and generating new ticket sales.
Must have a strong background in budget management and strategic planning within a Division I athletic department. Responsible for the development and management of key relationships with community business partners.
Supervises Marketing and Ticket Sales Staff and monitors work to ensure tasks are accomplished within established methods, procedures and in a timely matter showing quantifiable results.
With the assistance of all marketing staff, this position is responsible for creating and implementing a promotional plan that works collaboratively with the ticket office with the goal of maximizing attendance at all ticketed events.
Responsible for overall game day production of five premier-sport programs and must have the ability to work collaboratively with all stakeholders.
Serves as the senior AFAAC Marketing representative within the local community. Reports directly to the Associate Athletic Director of External Relations, sits on the executive level staff and may be required to perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in sport marketing, administration, management or a related field is required. Master’s degree is preferred.
Four or more years of related work experience in a Division I collegiate athletics marketing office or other related field. Previous staff management, budget oversight and excellent customer service skills are preferred. Candidate must have strong organizational, verbal, writing, and interpersonal skills. High computer literacy with strong skills and knowledge of social media usage is required.
Scope of job requires evening and weekend hours. Must be a U.S. citizen and successfully pass a background investigation. Random drug testing is required.
