The Undergraduate Enrollment Marketing and Communications Team is a hybrid marketing and communications team which blends traditional and digital marketing efforts with a focus on communications. The team is made up of experts in skill areas such as: marketing, communication, analytics, strategy. We are an agile and flexible team that aims to enable better storytelling by stronger reporting and strategic analysis of our marketing and communications efforts.
Reporting to the Senior Director of Marketing and Communication for Enrollment Management and Student Affairs, the Senior Assistant Director of Marketing is responsible for working across the traditional and digital marketing efforts, including but not limited to: all digital properties (web, social, email), presentation and video media, complex direct mail campaigns, marketing collateral, advertising efforts, event marketing, and market research. Close collaboration with teammates, including a Communications Specialist on communication efforts, and a Marketing Manager on integrated marketing campaigns, will be a key facet of this role. The Senior Assistant Director will also work closely with our Enrollment Management partners, including the Undergraduate Admissions Office, Student Financial Services group, and Office of Global Services on targeted campaigns, programs, and event, as well as collaborating closely with our in-house creative team, external freelancers and vendors. In addition, this role will collaborate, support, and assist many of the daily activities and initiatives within the Undergraduate Enrollment Marketing and Communications unit including both digital and communications efforts regarding email, social media, branding, communications, and web efforts.
The Senior Assistant Director of Marketing will be responsible for creating, deploying, tracking and measuring marketing strategies in support of enrollment management strategy and across multiples colleges within Northeastern University. The Senior Assistant Director will build and manage an extensive e-communications campaigns, including multiple drip campaigns, social media marketing efforts, web and landing pages. In addition, this individual will be responsible for managing print and interactive campaigns through efforts such as research, copywriting, project manager, proof reading, and testing. Further, the Senior Assistant Director will manage the hands-on execution of a wide variety of marketing activities, including but not limited to event management, development of marketing assets, social media strategy, reporting and analysis, and joint marketing programs with partners. This role will also have responsibilities managing functions such as fulfillment logistics and daily activity, marketing material inventory management and internal distribution, communications support, publications project management, managing relationships with key print and production vendors, and, media outreach. Bachelors degree in communications, business, marketing or related field required 4-6 years of experience in developing marketing, advertising, communications, social media and promotional materials required. Strong project management and organizational skills required. Higher Education experience preferred, but not required. Should possess excellent writing and communications skills and an ability to work collaboratively while supporting multiple projects and campaigns. Have the ability to report, interpret and analyze data to support the assessment of marketing campaigns. Must be a self-starter with demonstrated ability to handle projects from start to finish and strong leadership skills to support the units interests and goals as assigned. Experience working with content management systems. Knowledge of social media strategy and platforms such as Hootsuite/Sprout Social, native social analytic platforms, Radian 6. Familiarity with Adobe InDesign & Photoshop expected. Experience using CRM tools.
