Reporting to the chief customer officer, the marketing director will be a dynamic presence that builds and leads the Globus marketing organization. We seek an individual who is passionate about transforming the way that science is done, to develop and execute marketing and outreach programs, with ultimate responsibility for lead generation, branding, creative, digital, and public relations. The primary focus will be on creating multi-faceted campaigns to build awareness of Globus at university research computing centers, national facilities, and federal agencies.This position owns all aspects of branding and communications, and is critical to continued subscription revenue growth and sustainability of the Globus service. You will represent Globus in a broad range of forums, including industry events, academic conferences, and workshops, both virtually and in person. You will be proficient in using a mix of channels and marketing vehicles to demonstrate the value of Globus to our customers and sales prospects. Beyond writing a good press release or blog post, you will be a tech-savvy marketer who knows how to create a "buzz " that drives inbound sales inquiries and viral traffic to Globus online properties. You will understand the current state of software-as-a-service marketing, and will have demonstrated how to make it work effectively in a software company.Responsibilities include: - Work collaboratively with Globus leadership to create and execute integrated marketing and communications strategies- Become well versed in Globus functionality and the value it provides to researchers- Define and lead marketing programs to raise awareness of Globus within the research and education community, and convert existing Globus users to subscribers- Direct outreach programs that increase Globus usage at subscribers to ensure subscription renewal and growth- Ensure messaging consistency across all channels that touch customers and prospects- Work with sales, product management, and engineering teams to develop and execute relevant content for all stakeholders in target market segments- Direct presence and activities at conferences and industry events- Build brand awareness and increase Globus exposure through the media- Develop relationships at key community organizations such as CASC, RMACC, and Internet2, and leverage these relationships to promote Globus to their constituents- Maintain an engaging online presence that incorporates a modern, dynamic web site and extensive use of all key social media outlets such as Twitter and YouTube- Identify and leverage appropriate tools to automate communications and cost-effectively broaden marketing reach- Develop and utilize metrics to inform marketing strategy and programs- Engage partner organizations in joint marketing activities to target prospective Globus subscribers and expand outreach to prospects in adjacent markets- Participate in sales and business development activities, including sales strategy definition, and partner channel development- Manage and develop junior marketing staff- Manage external consultants and contractors to ensure timely deliverables
