Location: Virtual (Office is based in Maryland, but candidate can work from anywhere in the United States with high-speed reliable internet service). All operations of the organization are web-based. All of IAFN’s employees work remotely.
Reports to: Communications and Technology Director
IAFN is a professional membership organization for forensic nurses which seek to provide leadership in forensic nursing practice by developing, promoting, and disseminating information internationally about forensic nursing science.
The Marketing and Membership Manager will be responsible for all of the organizations marketing and membership needs. As the key organization providing training, technical assistance and certification to forensic nurses, developing, implementing and updating a marketing plan will be the primary focus of this position. In addition to marketing, the corresponding function of the Marketing and Membership Manager is to proactively pursue and strengthen robust engagement with our key audiences. This position will build and maintain positive retention rates with current members, gather information on changing member needs and trends, and create long-range membership recruitment, engagement and retention goals.
Marketing: Develop and implement membership retention and reactivation campaigns, using data, identifying potential membership markets, and monitoring trends. Develop and maintain membership demographic profile reports and analytics. Make recommendations regarding individual recruitment campaigns. Create the organization’s marketing plan and evaluate desired objectives and outcomes. Market the organizations products and events, including the annual conference, SANE certification, and trainings.
Membership: Respond to members’ existing and anticipated needs, with the goal of increasing engagement. Coordinate implementation of member benefits and affinity programs. Serve as the Chapter Liaison for IAFN’s 25 chapters. Survey members periodically regarding their views of value, quality, and impact. Welcome new members; complete and track outreach to expiring members.
Technology: Manage member database (YourMembership) and the online member communities (Higher Logic). Ensure membership data are reviewed periodically to ensure accuracy. Generate statistical reports. Review, update and cull data regularly. Manage Google Analytics for website.
The successful candidate will possess Bachelor degree OR Five (5) or more years’ experience in the membership or communications field. This is NOT an entry-level position. The applicant must have proven marketing success. Excellent analytical, problem?solving, and organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, successfully manages multiple priorities simultaneously, meet deadlines, and deal effectively with change. Highly self-motivated as well as the ability to work well as part of a team. Experience with associations, nonprofits, healthcare, or sexual assault/domestic violence industries High level of understanding of and proficiency in managing user?friendly technology. Proficiency in Microsoft Word 2010 or higher: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. High comfort level learning new technologies and working with web-based applications . Ability to travel (5%) Dedicated home office with high speed internet. Experience with Higher Logic or YourMembership platforms is a plus.
