Enrollment Management is seeking a Marketing & Media Coordinator to continue the marketing and media projects for the unit until the career-level recruitment to fill the vacancy is conducted.
This is a 6-month, full-time contract, with the possibility of extension, based on department need. The Marketing & Media Coordinator for Enrollment Management designs, produces and approves visual presentations, publications or communications using various creative methods for the purpose of attracting, recruiting, admitting, and yielding undergraduate students, for audiences that are either broad or highly influential.
The position requires subject matter expertise and an in-depth understanding of the audience and visual communication strategies/methods. The work is of considerable difficulty, and requires consultative skills for leading projects with clients. The Marketing & Media Coordinator supervises three full time career positions and one full time temporary position, functioning as a project lead for the team.
This position independently interprets narrative materials, and designs and portrays concepts, technical data and objectives through a wide range of media and techniques, especially Adobe graphics and design programs. Consults with authors, writers, designers, layout and printing personnel, computing staff and pre-press operators, from original concept through final printing or web-based production. Works with Associate Vice Chancellor of Enrollment Management (EM) and EM leadership to create a cohesive marketing strategy for the multi-unit department in support of prospective and continuing students.
Determines project deadlines and sets workflow priorities; reviews content and selects proper publishing software programs of compatibility of platforms; as part of these tasks, plans and composes drawings and illustrations for publications and presentations. Responsible for the direction and development of Admissions Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool Slate, social networking sites, lease prospect generation services, non-resident recruitment, and diversity marking and yield coordination. Designs creative artwork for exhibits, posters, web and social media.
Occasional evenings and weekends may be required.
Advanced knowledge of design and communications concepts and applicable software applications.
Advanced knowledge of production processes for a variety of media and knowledge of vendor requirements for a variety of products.
Demonstrated experience overseeing the architecture and design of websites.
Proven experience overseeing the launch and use of a Customer Relationship Management system.

A Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Graphic Design or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong skill in use of various desktop publishing, illustrating, and drafting computer programs such as InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, BBEdit, Acrobat Distiller. Maintain skills and knowledge of state-of-the-art publication software and publishing tools.
