The Civil and Environmental Engineering department is seeking a Marketing & Communication Coordinator who will direct, develop and disseminate all marketing and communications efforts for the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE). This includes developing and implementing a CEE marketing and communications strategy for the department, carrying out that strategy, and quantifying efforts through basic marketing analytics.
The Marketing & Communication Coordinator' primary responsibility will be the production of marketing and communications materials. They will possess a background in marketing products or services, and designing marketing materials related to digital and social media, print, event promotion and general communications. To achieve this, the Marketing & Communication Coordinator must possess superior writing and editing skills.
The Marketing & Communication Coordinator will collaborate on joint initiatives and coordinate marketing efforts with the College of Engineering (COE) marketing and communications team, as well as Northeastern University's marketing and communications department. In addition, they will work with the CEE Program Coordinator, who will assist in gathering and creating department-specific marketing content for marketing output, such as print material, web stories and event promotion.
The Marketing & Communication Coordinator will work closely with the CEE Chair in determining the basic strategic direction of all marketing and communications efforts. They will also work together on special projects determined by the chair and faculty. The individual will work closely with the CEE Business Manager and CEE Academic Operations Manager on a marketing budget and curriculum promotion, respectively. In addition, the MCC will work with student ambassadors and student recruiters at regional events to help increase the profile of CEE and its programs.
The Marketing & Communication Coordinator is expected to have a deep understanding of department activity within the context of university activity, as well as basic knowledge of the civil and environmental engineering profession. This will involve working closely with CEE faculty to promote their research and successes; student leaders and their groups to promote their accomplishments; and external strategic partners on important events and partnerships.
The Marketing & Communication Coordinator may be asked to supervise work study students from the College of Arts and Media Design, who assist with graphic design and photography.
This position will report to the Chair of CEE.
Bachelors degree required, preferably in marketing and communications, or business with a focus in marketing.
Required minimum of 2 years of experience in marketing products or services. 4 years of said experience preferred
Experience designing marketing and communications materials, including print, web, digital and social media
Must possess advanced writing and editing skills
