Reporting to the Assistant Athletic Director of Marketing and Community Engagement, the Marketing Assistant will serve as the Athletic Department's primary reporter finding compelling ways to visually tell student-athlete, coach, team and fan stories. The position will be responsible for filming, editing and producing unique video content for UC Irvine Athletics digital media distribution channels including website, social media and email. As a member of the UC Irvine Marketing team this position will work to find ways to support revenue and attendance goals for ticketing, camps and development.
Salary: Hourly $21.13
Total Hours: 8-5, M-F
Will work some nights and weekends
Experience producing high quality, HD video content. This should include knowledge of HD video camera equipment, professional sound equipment, video editing software and knowledge of formatting to optimize content for varying platform needs.
Working knowledge of desktop publishing software.
Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
Very strong organizational skills.
Must possess a proactive, problem-solving approach to work. Willing to demonstrate an above and beyond approach to work and take on new projects for the overall good of the department.
Ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.
Ability to work within a team environment and work towards a common, over-arching goal.
Open attitude toward direction, evaluation and professional feedback.
Availability and willingness to work evenings and weekends as the job requires desire to learn new areas of the business and take on new projects as needed.
Knowledge of and willingness to abide by all applicable NCAA, Big West Conference, UC Irvine and State of California rules and regulations.
