This is an excellent learning opportunity for a student aspiring to work in the arts, development, production, and more. As a member of our small entrepreneurial team you will be exposed to the high-paced and exciting behind-the-scenes business side of one of the leading performing arts organizations in Southern California.
• Research and write social media content for Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr about upcoming concerts, education programs and community events. • Interview musicians, volunteers, and patrons and write blog posts for Tumblr. • Assist in creating, administering, and evaluating social media plan. • Submit performances and events to online calendar listings and other arts calendars. • Assist development and marketing staff with a variety of administrative tasks including drafting marketing pieces, event planning, social media marketing, and special projects. • Flexibility to work on special projects aligned with your internship class requirements and your personal growth interests.
• Ability to take initiative and work independently and entrepreneurially with a small organization • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, LinkedIn, and other social media outlets • Awareness of current social media trends • Excellent ability to analyze and interpret data, and identify patterns. • Interest in the arts, music and philanthropy a plus • Take direction and feedback well • Strong computer skills with knowledge of basic Microsoft Office programs, Google Calendar, and CRM software.
• This is an unpaid internship that must be taken for academic credit. You must be enrolled in an internship course through your college or university to participate.
